Kashi Katan — Where Heritage is Woven into Every Thread
At Kashi Katan, every weave tells a story—of heritage, artistry, and timeless elegance. Rooted in the sacred spirit of Varanasi—also known as Banaras and Kashi—our journey is a tribute to the enduring legacy of handwoven textiles.
Founded by Ranjana Roy, the label is an ode to her deep admiration for the regal beauty of Banarasi silk sarees. Each creation reflects a seamless blend of tradition and contemporary expression—crafted for the modern woman who cherishes heritage yet embraces individuality.
We work closely with skilled weavers from the looms of Banaras and the serene valleys of Himachal Pradesh, bringing to life exquisite sarees, shawls, stoles, and jackets. Every piece is a labor of love—woven over days, sometimes weeks—preserving age-old techniques passed down through generations.
Once reserved for royalty and cherished as an essential part of bridal trousseaus, the Banarasi saree has long symbolized grace and grandeur. Over time, however, its intricate craftsmanship and rising costs made it less accessible. At Kashi Katan, we strive to revive that lost intimacy—making these masterpieces attainable without compromising on authenticity or artistry.
Our mission is simple yet profound: to bring the charm, dignity, and splendor of handwoven textiles back into every woman’s wardrobe and every celebration. Because nothing quite matches the elegance of a saree—it is not just attire, but an expression of identity, legacy, and timeless beauty.
